Benefits covered by basic insurance

• Emergency in EU/EFTA countries: the same benefits as those covered by insured persons in that country.
• Emergency in a country outside the EU/EFTA: maximum twice the amount that the treatment would cost in Switzerland . However, in countries such as the USA, Australia, Asia, these costs are higher.
• Transportation to the nearest hospital abroad:50%, max. CHF 500.
• Return transport: Repatriation to Switzerland is usually not insured in the basic insurance.
• Rescue operations:50%, maximum CHF 5000 per year (maximum amount in Switzerland)
• Treatments that are not emergency: not covered.
• Medications: not covered
• Also to know:Even if you had already reached the deductible in Switzerland, this will not be credited to you for services abroad.
